Discover the history of Hartmannswillerkopf
The Hartmannswillerkopf, renamed Vieil Armand by the press during the First World War, is a pyramidal rocky spur, in the Vosges massif, overlooking the Alsace plain from its 956 meters.

A National Monument is erected there in memory of the battles which took place there during the First World War, mainly in 1915. Le Vieil Armand was then a strategic summit fiercely contested by the French and German armies.
